BELLBROOK, Ohio (WKEF) — While the summer often means less time in school and more time with friends and family, for more than 22-million kids in the United States, summer means wondering where their next meal is coming from.

According to Feeding America, the summer season is the hungriest time for many Americans. Dayton 24/7 Now’s Gwyneth Falloon sat down with the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Community Support Center (BSCSC), which offers a choice food pantry to those in Greene County. They told Falloon they currently serve more than 200 people and are expecting that need to increase as summer continues.

“Poverty doesn’t take a break in the summertime and neither does food insecurity,” said Bellbrook Food Pantry Executive Director Katie Ly.
